The Earth Forever Our Home

Jesus Christ in his famous Sermon on the Mount said: “Happy are the mild-tempered, since they will inherit the earth.” (Matthew 5:5) Later in that same sermon, Jesus revealed the means by which the earth would be rescued from ruin. He instructed his followers to pray: “Let your Kingdom come. Let your will take place, as in heaven, also on earth.” Yes, God’s Kingdom, or government, will accomplish God’s purpose for the earth.—Matthew 6:10.

Regarding the remarkable changes the Kingdom will bring, God declares: “Look! I am making all things new.” (Revelation 21:5) Does this mean that God will replace the earth with a new one? No, for there is really nothing inherently wrong with our planet. Rather, God will do away with those responsible for the planetary crisis, “those ruining the earth,” that is, the present-day human system with its governmental structure. This will be replaced by “a new heaven and a new earth”—a new heavenly government, God’s Kingdom, ruling over a new earthly society.—Revelation 21:1.

To eliminate the ecological debt caused by man, God will rebalance the ecological budget, so to speak. Describing what God will do, the psalmist was inspired to write: “You care for the earth, making it abundantly fruitful and very rich.” With a regulated climate and, above all, God’s blessing, the earth will become a paradise yielding plenty of food.—Psalm 65:9-13.

According to his secretary Pyarelal, Mohandas Gandhi, the late spiritual leader of India, observed: “Earth provides enough to satisfy every man’s need but not for every man’s greed.” God’s Kingdom will address the root cause of earth’s problems by bringing about a change in people’s hearts. The prophet Isaiah foretold that under Kingdom rule, people “will not cause any harm or any ruin” to one another or to the earth. (Isaiah 11:9) In fact, millions of people today from all walks of life are already learning about God’s elevated standards. They are being taught to love God and neighbor, to show a thankful spirit, to care for the environment, to conserve natural resources, and to lead a life supportive of the Creator’s purpose. They are being prepared for life in a paradise earth.—Ecclesiastes 12:13; Matthew 22:37-39; Colossians 3:15.

The planet earth is far too precious to end up in environmental bankruptcy.

The creation account in Genesis concludes with the words: “God saw everything he had made, and look! it was very good.” (Genesis 1:31) Truly, the earth is far too precious to end up in environmental bankruptcy. We are comforted in knowing that our planet’s future rests safely in the hands of our loving Creator, Jehovah God. He promises: “The righteous will possess the earth, and they will live forever on it.” (Psalm 37:29) May you be counted among “the righteous,” who will call earth their eternal home.

Hand-n-Hand

Hand-n-Hand

by Seah Greenhorn
(Poem with copyright)

Let's make this as simple as we can:

So...

What would you replace?
Your eyes for your hands?

What do you Mean?
I'd keep both...if I can.

Okay, but what if you could choose?
Just what organ would you lose?

Why give it a thought?

Choose?

Lose?

Neither!...
None,

I refuse!

It won't by me be done!
I'll keep all...if I can!

I wish to remain a complete man;

God made me whole!

Every member completes
this body encasing mind
making me a soul.

With, breathe of life
living

to me gold!

That was His purpose
for humans on earth; on our land.

His Original Plan:

All brothers shoulder-to-shoulder.

All our children:
Hand-in-hand.

Based on “Now I truly understand that God is not partial, but in every nation the man who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him." Acts 10:34, 25;

"Then God said: “Let us+ make man in our image,+ according to our likeness,+ and let them have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and the domestic animals and all the earth and every creeping animal that is moving on the earth.”+ 27 And God went on to create the man in his image, in God’s image he created him; male and female he created them." Genesis 1:26, 27.

Poem: This Is Man

This is Man:

Oppression and War.

"Because I Can."

Abuse and Slander

"Because I Can."

Indeed, it's thus in the Heart of a man.

Yet, "No More War" because "He" Can

since

God...Is...Love.

Thankless and Disloyal

"Because I Can."

Fierce; With No Goodness

"Because I Can."

This is a man with No Positive Plan.

Headstrong and Destructive

"Because I Can."

Boastful. Blasphemer.

"Because I Can."

However, this is he without 'True God' in 'Heart'

And

Just...in...'hand.'

Because,

God...Is...Love.

So Search and Choose Wisely

"Because I Can."

Strip off 'old' and clothe 'New'

"Because I Can

Change

My

Course"

And Humbly

Before...God...Stand.

"Because...I...Can."

Since,

God...Is...Love.

Based on: 1 John 4:8; 2 Timothy 3:1-5; Psalm 46:9; 17:3; 139:23, 24; Matthew 15:19 and Deuteronomy 30:15, 16.

Poem: What Is God?

How many times, as a child with no care
did you open your mouth to gulp down the air?

Did you fill up your lungs thinking God were there?

When you spun around your arms outstretched to spin
at that moment did you expect to embrace the wind?

Could you caress it; hold it; or even call it 'A friend?'

These next questions many understandably

Choose to defend

when called to answer … Why
God is 'All' or 'Everywhere’

And even 'Within.’

True...God is a Spirit, though difficult to conceive,
when flesh and blood is our body bent to death and disease.

However, spirits have bodies made up of 'heaven'...They do.
Like we have bodies created of 'earth' and invisible things too.

Yet, maybe this is still hard to believe.
But others proclaim that 'He' is 'One'
and additionally 'Three.'

Does the answer matter?

Is it important that 'Truth-seekers Agree?'

Yes...since harmony and peace are only promised to these.

And...Eternal Life!

So no mystery should God 'Be'

When our lives depend on this:

His credibility.

Based on: John 4:24; 1 Corinthians 15:44; James 2:23 and John 17:3.

The Meaning of: To Maya

If you have read the poem: TO MAYA, what came to your mind? . . .The following scriptural verses are what inspired the wording of the poem.

TO MAYA:

Sleep Sweet…. (Sleep, as in Jesus’ words about Lazarus: “Laz′a•rus our friend has fallen asleep, but I am traveling there to awaken him.” The disciples then said to him: “Lord, if he is sleeping, he will get well.” Jesus, however, had spoken about his death. But they imagined he was speaking about taking rest in sleep. Then Jesus said to them plainly: “Laz′a•rus has died, and I rejoice for your sake that I was not there, so that you may believe. But let us go to him.” John 11:11-15.

It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it alone will stand forever.” Daniel 2:44 … “For a child has been born to us, a son has been given to us; and the rulership will rest on his shoulder. His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6.

Maya Angelou

The title of this post is really: To Maya

I'm using this blog to dedicate a poem to her because, generally, it's later in life that we come to appreciate life/its tests and lessons. Maya was one whose gilded words solidly framed our many hearts/kindred spirits. Gave each of our individual portraits/our varied circumstances ... value. Stamped by that special acknowledgement when someone feels what we felt. Understands ... understood.

Hope you enjoy.
