SHIELD

SHIELD
by Seah Greenhorn
(poem with copyright)

Shield
Me with
Your LOVE not
Covered in wood,
leather which FIRE
Can consume. Armor IT
in PURE GOLD. Oil it against
Ruin. Your Skills, flaming missiles from
Enemies, deflect. PROTECT ... my HEART.
Then FAITH in You I will Choose to REFLECT.

Based on: Ephesians 6:14-18.

Shadows

#Shadows

by Seah Greenhorn
(Poem with copyright)

No
Shadowy
#Presence

you are,

though

Often

Shoved

into the
corners

of our

Daily

lives.

HIDDEN,

as if
#deformed,

Yet

#Miracles--

All of them,

YOU

Performed.

Why should you be

Secreted

Away,

#Eclipsed

by puppet masters--

those who
commandeer
the stage,

Play

our

Strings

angrily,
greedily,
possessively,

While

YOU

Lovingly

Waited
Patiently,

Still
Managing our world

Spinning
Perfectly

for inattentive
#Humanity?

So Let There Be Light

Shown

on many

pathways,

For

No
Shadowy
Presence

you are
to remain,

to #FOREVER
maintain

An arena

for fleeting mankind's

#Hoorays.

For you there will be

No more

SHADOWS.

Burnt Out

BURNT OUT

by Seah Greenhorn
(Poem with copyright)

When

my anger
(insighted)

becomes a flame

and

my compassion
(manipulated)

begins to wane

When I
Burn out

on their

Disrespect

It is at this time

That I
Should

STOP and Again

REFLECT:

If

The Almighty--

Degrees
Infinitely

GREATER
than
me

WAS and IS

Hated
and
Ignored

Daily,

Continually

Blantantly
Disregarded,

Slandered

or

Distrusted,

Who am I--

His mere human

Servant

To burn out?

I must

Muster
up

More

Love.

Imitate
Him,

thus

NAVIGATE

to however

Tolerate

UNTIL

Only He Says:

"Okay...

NOW

It's Too Late!"

Based on: Ezekiel 8:17, 18; 9:10, 36:20-23; 2 Chron. 36:16; Joel 2:12-14; Heb. 10:26-31.

Fear Fleshed Out

#Fear Fleshed Out

#FEAR FLESHED OUT
by Seah Greenhorn
(Poem with copyright)

Perched
on this precipice

ascending
rapidly

from
blackened
ashes

molded,

into
a
solid
craggy

Mountain

High

above the ocean,

the speed of which

stripped
me
bare

of robe--

nearly
peeled
back

my onion skin.

I climbed this mount
turned mountain.

Took
the steep steps
of
"can't"

"ain't good enough"--

often repeated

snide,
wicked,
constant,

projecting
me

higher and higher;

past
any
silver linings.

*

First I floated
on a lake of crystal clear
rippled waters,

which

Could

quench my thirsty soul.

Then
Drown
I
almost
did

bobbing and thrashing,

frantic

on the
agitated waves

of cannonball
performers.

*

I
Permitted
a drift;

so why glance
for a sail?

(Do I really
desire
Salvation?

What
exactly

Is this place
called
Hell?)

*

I
took
the steps

escaping the whirling
whispers--

sudden
blessed efforts
to inspire.

Poignant
sweet
musings

that

plucked at my core;

mimicked stroked strings
of the harp

to pacify

my
bleating
heart.

And

Yes,

Light

seeped through

semi-slanted,

dusty

blinds;

Truly

sprouted

blossoms

on this crusty soiled floor.

Though,

across
windows
(double-paned)

in flight free
and easy,

birds in abundance,

More
Beautiful
appeared;

their varied sounds

garbled.

Their melodies unclear.

*

I climbed those steps
way above those birds;
Above that ocean.

I climbed higher
even when

my legs grew heavy
in the exertion.

Now?

I lie--cold and frozen.

Now?

I will shut
my tired eyes,

just a tiny while

Dozing....

till--

THE END.

Based on: 2 Timothy 1:7; Luke 21:26; 1 John 4:18.

SLANDER

Slander
by
Seah Greenhorn
(Poem with copyright)

Opposers
Slander,

PURE and SIMPLE.

But
TRUTH

Endures;

Rises
Above,

Beyond!

In its

Ascent

Uncloaks

distorted
ugly
schemes--

themes

somewhat
concealed

in equally
contorted/
crippled
frames.

Their

saddened

Brains,

Always

Contriving.

Shamed,

Shameful,

they
proclaim fables

to

Disguise

their lack of
Beauty,

their

Unable-
ness.

Maybe.

LIES

Only
Blanket

their

HATRED,

which covers

the skin
of their

Envy,

Buried
Within--

A
Thin
Breathing

UNENTITLED

Shield
of
Arrogance,

This
Cultivated

Veneer,

Until

The
Bright
Light

of

Clear
Proof

Shines
Brilliantly.

Reveals

the
aged lines
of their
bitterness,

of
their anger,

of
their

DYING,

though,

Already

Dead

in their
Hearts.

Yes,

also
tragically,

Decaying

in
their

Heads.

Based on: 2 Cor. 4:4; John 12:31; 1 John 2:17; Ps. 39:1; Ps. 119:172.

Gratitude

#Gratitude
by Seah Greenhorn
(Poem with copyright)

Do we
measure

Genuine

#Thankfulness ...

by the
warm smile,
which reaches the eyes,

by the comforting
strong hug

with a bit of shoulder
and/or
back rub,

by the delighted
squeal
that pierces the ears,

yet
brightens the face,

or the sudden
tears

followed by

the bowed head
in a gesture

of humble #grace,

by
Speechlessness,

that we

Hear
Loud and Clear

or a nose-blowing,
gut-wrenching,

sniffling,

hiccupping

Ugly cry--

Appealing

to the heart,
and ever
far-reaching

Into our

#Glorious
Sky?

Or

how about
an arm-pumping
bone-crunching
hand-breaking

shake,

a blush,
a bloom,

a

Sudden

drop
to the knees,

or flight
and exit

to an adjoining
room?

Do we
measure

Gratitude

by

#Reciprocated

Sharing

of something

to ourselves--
the giver

or them

passing along

a gift--
their giving

to
unsuspecting

others

to make them
feel cheerer?

Is Gratitude

an

Expressed

Remembering

and

Constant

Reliving?

A
Forgiving?

An audible/inaudible

Prayer
of
Thanksgiving?

How

Does
Our Creator

Measure

Our

Gratitude,

Our

Thankfulness

for

Living?
